For this weekend, from 18 - 20 jan, was a 3 day youth conference from friday to sunday called the Ignite conference

Quite a alot of TM ppl went..from the youngest to the oldest..haha..no need to sae who la..but can see alot of CGs from TM412 and TF went for this even!

This year's theme for Ignite is about reaching out to the School and i can tell you that the testimonies were really inspiring.

I went for all 3 days and was tagging along wif Sharon Lee (senior)'s CG most of the time =) cos...i hav no CG! sad T_T haha and Sharon was the ONLY nicest person to accept this loner me..haha..=)

THANKS SHARON!!! =D

well, the Speaker was from Sweden and he has this great gift for public speaking which he put into good use for preaching the word and he is none other than, Pastor Joakim.

Well, i wun be going to share all 5 session's msg la..but i will share the deepest impact story i remember from all his 5 sessions..

well there was a dance on session 3 haha..which avelyn said there is no link but it was jus purely entertaiment..haha..

well, on each session, they will show this video on how diff sch shared using like maybe 1 or 2 person and start spreading the word till it is ard 15 - 20 ppl and their faith target for 2008..it is quite cool to noe tt..

well, most of his story is abt how the diff ppl shared to the ppl in their sch and rising their "staff" for God!

well, quite inspiring! well and there were 2 stories which were identical but by 2 different ppl where these grp of ppl paste some notes on the cupboard/locker of the students in the sch..and each were written a personalise msg and guess wat..it all touches/reaches their current problem! that is one great miracle! =)

glad to hear such thing and many more ways of sharing that we (i) will not even think of it ever happen in Singapore! haha..

well, from what i remember the clearest was the last message (session 5) on the last day, at the very end he told us this true story which was really sad but inspiring and it gripped me. Here it goes:

In 1914, 2 years after the titanic disaster, there was another ship carrying about a thousand and a half people on board in the Atlantic Ocean. As it was sailing, the captains were prepared for icebergs but not for what they were going to crash into that would sink the ship. They collided into another vessel but unlike the titanic which took 3 1/2 hours to sink, this ship sank in 14minutes. That meant that the crew did not even have time to dispatch lifeboats and everyone was in the water soon after, the luckier ones managed to grab life-vests in time. As everyone struggled for survival, clinging on to what they could get, a group from the salvation army stood out from the rest. A 120 of them were giving away their life-vests to those people who needed it more. You see these people were already christians and therefore would be going to heaven. There was this particular girl no more than 18 years though, who gave her life-vest to a man twice her age. She swam against the tide and cold, and threw her vest to him with all her might. Feeling guilty, the man threw it back, I mean, how could he accept the vest from a person half his age, let alone a girl? So he threw it back, and then she threw it back again. The man asks why. The girl, being a christian who was already spiritually saved, just says,'I will die better than you'. She perishes along with the other 100+ salvation army people and they are now watching over us.

What is the morale of the story here? Are we willing to give up whatever it takes for his glory, like placing others before us and giving our life-jacket of comfort and salvation to others in need of it?

A certain wave of guilt and compassion overwhelmed me when I heard this story. These were real people in real life who gave up their lives to save others, not only physically, but also more importantly, spiritually. Many a time we sleep in our own comfort zone and can't be bothered about anyone and anything else around us even when it is so obvious they are crying out for help. The good news is that the conference impacted the whole lot of us and I am glad to say, the revival is beginning, I can feel it, but it starts with us, me included.

Well, this year's Ignite is different from the past year, cause simply, it is not whole day and also there is no Workshop.

The schedule is like packed and all is Sermons + Worship..and simply can say that 90% of the songs i duno!

except for..hmmm..Hosanna, Tell The World (Last Day), Break Free =)

well..think that is all for today..

TO BE CONTINUED . ..
